What is the SIR 2026?

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 is the Election Commission of India's house-to-house revision of the electoral roll. Enumerators verify every existing elector; those not verified in the field are marked for removal from the draft roll.

Every elector carries exactly one reason code, drawn from reason_norm - the one column of the three candidate reason fields in the source table that is fully clean and sums to the table's own row count with no remainder.

Each bubble is one constituency, sized by its 2025 electoral roll. Roll size and removal rate barely correlate across all 224 constituencies - a seat of 170,000 electors and one of 750,000 are both found at every point on the rate scale.
